Gerhard Stübe gets top job in the Austrian event industry
After ten years in office, Christian Mutschlechner is handing over the presidency of the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB), the umbrella association for the Austrian meeting and event industry, to his deputy Gerhard Stübe.
At the 27th Ordinary General Meeting of the ACB, Gerhard Stübe will assume the office of president of the 77 member strong umbrella association for the Austrian event industry. Born and bred in Vorarlberg, Stübe has been executive director of Kongresskultur Bregenz for 17 years and a member of the ACB board since 2012. At the ACB he was initially financial officer and was elected to the position of vice-president in 2018. Now taking over the ACB presidency from Christian Mutschlechner, he is looking forward to his new responsibilities with motivation and determination: "I'm very happy to be following on from an exceptionally successful influencer in our event industry as president of the association of the Austrian event industry, the ACB. The path that has been taken thus far to create the conditions for a successful future must now be continued and developed further. We have a very committed team at our disposal for that."
Involvement in associations and foundations
Stübe has made a name for himself as innovative and forward-thinking not only in the ACB, but throughout the meetings business. Among other functions, as spokesperson of micelab:bodensee he has worked and experimented on further developments in the MICE industry and on concepts for vibrant congress formats. In addition he has been a member of the board of the European Association of Congress Centres (EVVC) since 2015. The Kongresskultur director is furthermore an ambassador of the World Future Council, appointed in 2017. The organisation sees itself as the voice of future generations and is committed to engineering a better future through research and promoting the best policies.
